SHIELD GROUP newsflash
Shield Group and ITRR participates in the 7th Framework FP7 EU-project call, named 'Intercept' under a special consortium. Shield Group has already succeeded in bringing in the KLPD ( Dutch State Police) as a full partner in this Counter Terrorism research project. We expect the grant to be final this year.

Shield Group is also proud to announce the start of its branch-office in Suriname. This branch office will offer Special Training programs, Security Advisory in general and Forensic/Criminal Investigations. The Security detail of Torarica Group of hotels in Suriname will be the first to receive an upgrade-training from SG in conjunction with the highly recognized Reeberg Beveiliging from Rotterdam.

Shield Group was approached by the Aruba Red Cross to assist with their Emergency Plan and long term business plan. Shield Group brought to Aruba, Dr. Jonathan Schlachter who is an Emergency Management Professor of ITRR and John Skalos from FEMA. Together with Shield Group experts they did the necessary groundwork and produced a very comprehensive Strategic Plan Red Cross Aruba. This plan will be the basis for the reorganization of the Red Cross chapter in Aruba and also sets the appropriate path to Planning, Training, Drills and Equipping of the Red Cross.

Shield Group director Gerold Dompig is now exploring security-contracting opportunities in the booming Goldmine Industry of Suriname and he is also working with the Suriname Airport Authority on an Aviation Security Consulting partnership.

SHIELD GROUP participates in the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) of the European Union.
The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) is the European Union's main instrument for funding research in Europe. FP7, which applies to the years 2007-2013, is the natural successor to the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), and is the result of years of consultation with the scientific community, research and policy making institutions, and other interested parties.

Since their launch in 1984, the Framework Programmes have played a lead role in multidisciplinary research and cooperative activities in Europe and beyond. FP7 continues that task, and is both larger and more comprehensive than earlier Framework Programmes.

Running from 2007 to 2013, the programme has a budget of 53.2 billion euros over

its seven-year lifespan, the largest funding allocation yet for such programmes.

Under the Cooperation programme, research support will be provided to international cooperation projects across the European Union and beyond.
